My First 5-10 Minutes Exercise.

It was little over a year ago already. I have just finished my herniated disk treatment with this special machine that pulls you in different directions and opens a space between your vertebras so your disk can go back and regenerate itself. I found this therapy very effective. it took a long time and I was about to give up sometimes as I came to the point of having to use a chair to help me walk so I could get the bathroom.

One of the conditions of the treatment was no exercising, no yoga, no pilates… nada…  barely walk and use a corset for 3 hours after the treatment, which was 3 times a week and would last 2 hours.

All this left me with very weak back muscles. I was lucky all my life to have good abs. but my back, my hips even my legs became very weak. I was having cramps in all my hips area muscles. Let me explain with an example so you can understand how bad it was: try to sit in a chair, just any regular chair and now try to raise your foot (any one of them) 2-3 inches from the ground. Were you able to do it? was it hard? Did it hurt? in my case, I was not able to do so, and if I tried to force myself and maybe help with my hands I would feel pain in my glutes. I would walk and frontal muscles on my hip would cramp and release with pain.

I was trying to get an answer from my chiropractor but the only thing he was saying is that I have to fortify my muscles.

I was at home browsing Pinterest and came upon some interesting posts. and there it was, I decided to give it a try.

I remember watching the news. So I stood up in front of the TV and did 15 knee elevations with each leg. after that, I did 15 standing side leg elevation on each side. then I went back to the bed and did some 10-15 frontal leg elevations and side knee elevation.

THAT WAS IT!

I repeated this routine every day for a week. while watching the news I did that and pain started slowly go away.

This was the real beginning of my journey.

Leg elevation. if you can jump it is amazing, but you don't need to. I wasn't able to do so and didn't.
side leg elevation for excursus
Side leg elevation. I did my first standing up as it was easier, but also did it in bed laying down.
stretches are a must. i will cover it in later posts but if you decide to start today don't forget to stretch before and after
