How To Dress In Colors Without Dressing In Colors

I love colors. Being a designer colors have been part of my daily life and in my opinion, they are here to make our life happier. Have you ever notice how in winter, when snow falls, everything becomes kinda black and white? No wonder people in places with long winters are famous for drinking more than usual.

But enough about winters, it is summer and colors are alive and surround us with their magic. If you read my posts or follow me in some other social media place you know I am an advocate for minimalistic life. Let me clarify it for newcomers, don’t get scared. I am the one who cannot wear same twice in a row. My friends always take pictures and I just can’t imagine being with the same clothes in every picture (it does happen, however).

Of course, not every piece of your wardrobe is one-time wear and if you were following my bits of advice on purchasing plain colors clothes adding color will be really easy.

Let’s start with bags and shoes. Don’t we love them? Let’s talk then about how to show them off.

1st – Make them comfortable. Remember the expensive not always is comfortable, let them be sexy, remember that everybody will look at them and you don’t want people to see that you barely can stand or walk. If you are not a pro with high hills make them smaller. Try them on and walk in the store. Stay with them on for a while. Listen to your feet. If in those 20 min spent with those shoes on something started bothering, imagine how it will be after 2 hours.

2nd – Make them colorful. I believe every woman at any age has to have at least one pair of shoes in bold color. Choose your favorite color. One that adds a drop of extra happiness to you. Mines always have been hot pink, not that I planned to get them in that color, it just happens that when there is a pair of perfectly hot pink shoes I gravitate directly to them.

I always wanted a pair of royal blue shoes but when applied my rule of “how many times I will wear it” everything goes down and I just can’t find a day to wear them and don’t buy. I promise if some day I decide to settle and get a whole room for a closet and have much many clothing first thing I will get royal blue hills. For now, my space and my personal rules or maybe I just didn’t find yet a perfect pair.

So basically, get your color, one that speaks to you. In summer try to go for light and bright like yellow, orange, light green or blue of any shade. And if you can afford to have more than one color go for it!

3rd – Make it match. Get a handbag. you can make it matching color. It will look elegant and clean. However here is where you can play little bit. get yourself something funky, or flowerful, stripes or squares, remember it is about you. Let one of the colors be matching with your shoes color and you are done. In case you can’t find that special one with matching color, use for you handbag same color as your dress.
