Mary’s Harborview Cafe

Maybe you are not a breakfast person in your regular life, but remember, you are now in St Augustine. You don’t have to rush yourself to work or a meeting, you can just sit and relax, enjoy the view and a coffee.

But if you are as I am, an anxious person who just can’t keep calm for long periods of time, mostly when there is so much to see in the city, Mary’s Harborview Cafe will be your perfect choice. (and let me tell you it is so good that I dedicated them a  whole blog post)

It is a diner style place and they have been there for many, many, many years and we’ve seen different colors on the walls but the food is always tasty and fresh, cooked with love. The last time we came in, Jim Cantore from Weather Channel was sitting just next table to us and he is a regular there (we didn’t want to disturb him, so no pictures- and no, there were no weather alerts nearby)
You can sit and enjoy the view of the harbor as the cafe is located right in front.

The food will be done in no time. When we came in the Lady apologised as we ordered house potatoes and she had to tell us that they were cooking them and probably will be ready in about 10-15 minutes (we have places in south beach where 20 min wait for a drink is regular time and they are not even half as good) however right when I prepared myself for a moment of enjoyment with coffee before the food, our meal arrived. cooked to perfections, seasoned to perfection. An amazing home meal! (you probably can see little hearts flying in between the letters here)
Even though the food comes in fast, nobody will kick you out if you decide to stay a little longer with your coffee.
Be aware that on weekends there might be a waiting time to be seated. (because it is so good!)
Tip:  Ask your waitress for some local stories.

Mary’s Harborview Cafe is located on 16 Avenida Menendez, St. Augustine, FL   tlf: 904-825-0193
