You are finally packing and you feel very excited to begin this adventure to Miami Beach. You almost can feel a salty breeze on your face. Even if you’ve been to Miami before, things here change at a speed of light so I decided to make for you a list of apps that are free and you will take a big advantage of them while visiting Miami.

MIA airport official app

Most of the trips begin and end at the airport. So MIA AIRPORT OFFICIAL app will come very handy to you while you are there. From looking (and saving!) favorite shop or an eatery to saving time through passport check lines.

Uber / Lyft offer affordable transportation.

Uber or Lyft, whatever your preference (I personally like Lyft more) these transportation options are very inexpensive and safe down here. Anywhere you go you can get your driver. So if you still don’t have those apps, use them.

And that takes me to another very essential app

Translate Professional

Because chances are your driver does not speak English and if you don’t speak Spanish the translation app can do magic. Same will apply for a little corner store where you are looking for sunscreen and the inly person available doesn’t speak english or even in a restaurants. So it is better to be on a safe side and be prepared.

This app is only available for Apple devices but I linked for you an option for android too.

There is not always a need of Uber, sometimes you can use public transportation and here is an app for that. You can see the schedule and different routes.

Next 2 apps are pretty useful. they give you schedule and routes for a free trolley. If you are up for a sightseeing jump on one of them. all routes are connected so basically you can tour Coral Gables, Brickell, Downtown and go up to Midtown/Wynwood. The app will show you the stops and schedule.

At the moment of publishing this post apps for Miami trolley were not available however you can always track them through the page, hopefully they will get fixed.

Yelp!

Maybe you have it already so use it for everything here. Read reviews good and bad so you don’t get unpleasant surprises with restaurants or services. And in case you didnt know Yelp is integrated now with Eat24 so you can order you take out or delivery right on the spot.

Yo download the app just go to this site and they will send a link to you.

Pay by phone parking

If you decide to rent a car and drive around you will need this app to pay for your parking. Please note there are two different apps for the city of Miami and city of Miami Beach. Of course you can always pay at the meter but who wants to run in the middle of the dinner or shopping spree just because a meter will expire. Much easier to renew right from where you are. The app will also show you available spots around the city.

City of Miami Beach uses a different parking app. Check City of Miami Beach apps here

To finish the list a City Walks app. You can download it for any city. it comes with maps and walk tours and tons of information. so if you are tired of the beach and decide to explore here is a tool for you.

I thought about including a weather app but the weather is pretty much same nice, warm and sunny year around. if you get here during the rainy season (summer) just remember rain will not last long and the sun will be back pretty soon.
