Driving around Miami, Feeling Alive with Mazda

Let’s get real for a minute; Miami is a flashy town, it’s a fact, and don’t let anyone tell you differently. And on Flashy point, your car makes a difference; what you drive here matters, and also, while I’m on this honesty run, I will admit that driving in Miami is you have to have all your 7, 8, or even 10 senses on full alert- at all times!

Both hands on the steering wheel and ready to honk that horn like there’s no tomorrow.
Turning signal? What is that?
Stoplights? Let me decode: yellow means go faster before the red turns on. Green: don’t rush to accelerate; there might be somebody running that yellow turning red.
Exit signs on the highway? You can still make it even if you’re all the way across the highway lanes, never mind the other 4 lanes to get there. Speed limits? Suggestions probably… until you get the bored trooper who saw your law-abiding face and decided it was time to stretch his legs.

Now that you got an idea of how it is to drive in Miami, you know you need a SAFE, RESPONSIVE and COMFORTABLE car. Comfortable for those hours you will spend contemplating your existence while sitting on the Palmetto, i95, or Dolphin traffic.

So here is when new 2021 Mazda CX- 5 Signature Edition. Comes to play. Ok, it’s not a car that will get Michael Bay rooting for you on Bad Boys 10, but it is a car that people will know you had a thought process when choosing your vehicle, and once you show off its features, you’ll have people wanting to ride with you-
and no, I don’t mean the Uber or Lyft type…although…!

This Signature edition is on the higher end of Mazda and is well worth it! Everything from the sunroof, entertainment console, full immersive surround BOSE speakers (oh yeah, time to rock out while stuck on the Express lines), luxury trim inside and out, 360-degree cameras and bird’s eye view of the car when parking and reversing, and many other features, my favorite: Wide seats with heat AND COOLING! Trust me, your body will thank you for this in August summers in South Florida.

Yves is a car guy and comes from an Off-Road background; he values a car that drives in the city as easily as it can drive off-road without compromising luxury. The CX 5 Signature had me comfortably driving in Miami’s famous non-visibility rain while feeling safe AND pampered.

Remember what I said before about Michael Bay? Well, you can still punch this bad boy (see what I did there?) a little more because wait for it… Paddle Shifters! Yes, once the traffic clears, the road is dry, and you become one with the road, go ahead, crank up those BOSE and get in the action film mood and set your inner action hero free!

The CX5 fits perfectly with the Miami urban vibe, and the car fits perfectly with the famous Wynwood walls.

I was on a mission to find a new sunset location to use my new photo gear and send out the drone for Miami’s skyline. But instead, we went down south to Homestead for berry-picking at Knaus Berry Farms (they are cash only and no ATM on the property)  and later to get tacos from LAS CHAVELAS TAQUERIA, a food truck park at Redland Ranch, where chickens and roosters roam freely around you, while you eat your Carnitas or Al Pastor tacos! We were on a mission to find a new sunset location where Yves could use our new photo gear and send out the drone for Miami’s skyline. So during the day we also had a chance to drive through the fields in Homestead for cherry picking as well as the famous Mexican food trucks, where chickens and roosters roam freely around you while you eat your taco of Carnitas Asada!

Homestead roads down south were perfect to feel the dirt and gravel under the tires, and the open country gave us a sense of freedom! Much needed and welcomed after being locked up in quarantine for over a year.

We did not forget about that shot of the Miami skyline. We found the dream location, which was always right in our backyard, at Miami Beach’s entrance. It had everything we were looking for: Palm trees, Water, Luxury real estate homes, luxury yachts; it was a peaceful place, with the Miami vibe.

As you may be noticed, this post was written partially by my husband because he was so excited to talk about this car, I let him write it.
One thing I can say it really made me ” FEEL ALIVE.”
