Sahara Las Vegas

I’ve been absent for a while, but COVID didn’t help much with my traveling situation.

Those who follow me on Instagram know I recently moved to California. My long-term dream came true. What I love most about it is that I can jump into my car and be in a completely different place in some hours. And that’s how it happened with my first trip to Las Vegas.

There is so much about Vegas! I used to think it was for gambling, but I was wrong. While the city is advertised as a sin city, you can have a relaxing time.

Here we go!

We stayed at the SAHARA hotel. Right off the strip. At the same time, you are probably told that off-strip hotels are far and you want to be on the strip. Let me tell you; I can’t imagine a better location for the hotel.

Before my visit, I had a challenging two semesters and only a week’s break before the summer semester, and I urgently needed some rest time.

We arrived at a spacious and inviting lobby. Check-in went fast enough, considering we were in a peak hour.

And now comes the best part! Valet parking is free!!! (don’t forget to tip)

We dropped our suitcases in the room and went to the monorail. Vegas monorail is so convenient; it gets you to any stop on the strip in no time. I highly recommend that way of transportation to any uber because the strip was packed with almost stopped cars. It probably would take you 20 min to get through the half block.

We got out at the Harrah’s/The LINQ station and walked the strip. When we got tired, we jumped back at the nearest station and rode back to the hotel, where our comfy bed greeted us.

I am not a real gambler. To say more, I don’t even know how to gamble, except maybe for the coin machines, but that didn’t seem fun. I did want to play crabs and roulette, but for somebody who doesn’t know how to play and place my bets, I decided to leave it for the next trip and at least watch a couple of youtube videos before that. But I must tell you that Sahara has only a crab table in Vegas that is open all night long. (that’s what I was told)

The hotel offers three relaxing pools. The day we visited was windy, so the rooftop pool was closed, but we enjoyed the AZILO pool. With its cozy beds submerged in the water, that was the day I needed.

Giant digital screens surround Azilo; it was a draft week, and I loved not to miss that news ( Go Pats).

Later we enjoyed a bar right in the lobby with carefully crafted drinks.

This trip was concise as I only had one week of break and still had some pending business back home, but I cant wait to visit again and stay in SAHARA.

Things to know: They don’t have coffee makers in rooms, but there is Starbucks downstairs. Valet is complimentary, but you can park yourself. Some room packages offer discounted tickets to the monorail. They were hugely understaffed during our visit, so if you are planning on requesting something, be patient, people there are working hard but have too many requests, but you will get the item you asked for delivered with a smile no matter how tired the worker is.
