I had been searching for a new place for happy hour that would offer enough seafood options in a relaxed, yet chic and quiet place in Miami Beach. There are some options for Fish restaurants here, but they didn’t convince me as usually they have 1 or maximum 2 types of fish, or the place would be enclosed and no outdoor experience, which, to me, makes a big difference.
There it is, nestled in Sunset Harbor, Stiltsville! And when I mean nestled is because is below street level in a cozy, contemporary indoor/ outdoor ambiance place! I mean even before we sat down, we noticed that is located in a place where you can actually see what this neighborhood is famous for The Sunset!
Ok, let me tell you about our experience!
Going in you step down the stairs and choose between sitting Indoor table or bar or Outdoor. They’ve got umbrellas outdoor so there’s shade! The indoor looks casual but chic with big seashells chandeliers and decor. Also the indoor is open towards the outdoor sitting, no wall, no glass, nothing. So its great because you still get the outdoor feel, while dining indoor!
We sat and browsed through the Happy Hour menu. I admit I was little sad when they told me that the Happy Hour drink that I wanted was not available and we couldn’t order a variation of it in the Happy Hour price. After thinking for a while I decided to try the Sauvignon Blanc I’m more of a Rose or Sparkle girl but those were not available either.
Hubby, on the other hand, noticed that there is a happy hour drink made from Glenlivet: Walking on Stilts. By the way, he smiled while he drank them (Several- of them) I would venture out and say that he loved it!
Sun was coming down, mellow yellow, orange, and pink colors are slowly filling up the space… its time for some good selfies and drink photos!
We started with the amazing Smoked Fish Dip: It comes with savory crackers and house pickles.. oh my goodness I can eat that fish dip all day! ( we actually ended up ordering it again at the end)
We also decided to give a try to a Chilled Kohlrabi and Chayote Salad… It came in as a fresh flavor and was a very good and healthy complement to our food.
For all you Vegetarians out there that still want something with a buffalo sauce kick… they have…wait for it: Buffalo Fish Wings! I’m talking about Fish wings with a lot of meat in a yummy spicy sauce!
Now, they got this cool way for you to clean your hands… pretty neat actually, instead of those alcohol filled wipes, they have the ones that expand with water, so they come with a little cute claw bathtub, and you dip the little towel (looks just like an Alka-Seltzer ) and it grows! I just though this was so happy and it blends in with the bathtub where they display the catch of the day- yep it all ties in together!
Want more? we sure did! we ordered Blue Crab Slider and the Smokey Fish Slider. I told you I can keep eating that Fish dip… Both were so good.
For the Grand Finale…More Fish Dip! (told ya we ordered more) Ok, I confess that I’m laughing at myself while writing these lines…laughing at this point, but is true- that’s what we had!
Prices on happy hour dishes are great! all under $10. and boy do I love little bites to go with my drink while keeping a nice conversation.
If you decide to go for dinner I suggest you make a reservation. by the time we were leaving the place was packed.
